Another school year....This year starts my 34th or 35th year in education. It doesn't really seem like that long ago that I nervously started up the steps at H.G. Isbill Junior High in McGregor eager to teach my 6th grade science class. The smells of the ditto fluid and oil from the wooden floors come back with those memories. Tomorrow starts another journey. I look forward to our new group of 6th graders and can't wait to see all of our former students in 7th and 8th grade. We have several new staff members this year, and we also feel "different" without many familiar faces on opening day. Team HJH seems to be eager to challenge both our new and former students. Excitement and butterflies...every start date has a little of both.
In education, every day is different. I'm still glad I chose to be a teacher. Looking forward to another great year in HJH.
